In preparation for Maha Kumbh 2025, expected to draw 400-450 million devotees, the Mela Authority has launched the 'Mahakumbh Mela 2025' app to guide pilgrims across Prayagraj.

This digital tool aims to provide seamless access to ghats, temples, and major religious sites, ensuring an effortless experience for the devotees attending this globally celebrated religious gathering.

The app features a ‘Plan Your Pilgrimage’ section, where users can select ‘Get Direction to Ghat’ to access routes to seven key ghats, including Dashashwamedh, Kila, Rasulabad, Naukaha, Maheva, Saraswati, and Gyan Ganga. This allows devotees to navigate directly to their destinations with integrated Google Maps and real-time directions.

During his recent visit to Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated both the Mela administration’s official website and this app, underscoring the state’s commitment to ensuring convenience for pilgrims. The Mela area will be equipped with extensive signboards and digital navigation aids at ghats and major routes, further enhancing accessibility.

In addition to improving digital guidance, the Yogi government has also focused on beautifying and upgrading facilities at Prayagraj’s iconic ghats, particularly Dashashwamedh and Kila, where pilgrims will be provided with insights into religious traditions. This initiative aligns with UNESCO’s recognition of Kumbh Mela as an intangible cultural heritage, reflecting India’s profound cultural and spiritual legacy.

Several leading institutions, including IIM, have conducted research to aid in organizing the Maha Kumbh Mela efficiently. Based on their insights, strategic crowd management and improved facilities are being implemented across the Mela grounds, prioritizing safety and ease for devotees.

The Mela Authority has also advised pilgrims to avoid overcrowding at the Sangam banks by opting for other designated bathing ghats. This is part of their broader strategy to ensure a safe and fulfilling experience for all attendees.

Designed to resonate with Prayagraj’s ancient spiritual heritage, the 'Mahakumbh Mela 2025' app serves as an informative digital companion, guiding devotees to ghats, temples, and other sacred sites. The app not only simplifies navigation but also enriches the pilgrimage experience, allowing devotees to focus on their spiritual journey amid the vast crowds expected for Maha Kumbh 2025.
