LG directs DDA to dispose pending PM-UDAY applications

Thursday, 28 November 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena has directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to proactively undertake the disposal of pending Pradhan Mantri - Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Yojana  (PM-UDAY)  applications, as also registration and subsequent disposal of new applications for regularisation of residences in unauthorized colonies of the city in a mission mode.

In a communiqué to DDA and Chief Secretary of Delhi, Saxena has also desired that the 22 DANICS and three IAS probationers under training may also be deputed to assume leadership role of quick disposal in these camps.

Based on the feedback received by him in several of his visits to the unauthorised colonies, wherein people apprised him of their concerns and red tape involved in the regularisation process, Saxena chaired a meeting on Wednesday  to review the progress of the PM-UDAY Scheme. Thereafter, upon his directions, the DDA has been asked by the LG Secretariat to organize Special Camps in unauthorized colonies over the next one month beginning from November 30 to December 31, to solve the problems of the people and facilitate on spot regularisation in a flexible and humane manner.

The 10 camps will be organised in various unauthorised colonies that include Sant Nagar, Burari, Mukundpur, Ganesh Nagar, Pandav Nagar, Nilothi, SangamVihar, Nangloi, Baprola, BudhVihar, Khirki Extension and Najafgarh.

Saxena has directed for each of these camps to have a Single Window Clearance Mode with facilitation for documentation, uploading documents on the portal, scrutiny, notarization and other ancillary activities along with on the spot disposal.   “Area Tehsildars and SDMs will also be present in these camps for resolving revenue related matters. 22 DANICS and three IAS probationers under training will also be deputed to assume leadership role of quick disposal in these camps.  122 PM-UDAY Mitras will be deployed for an outreach at each of these locations, to meet the applicants ahead of the camps and during the camps to provide them information and facilitation,” Raj Niwas said in a statement. A Social media campaign including messaging on Whatsapp groups will be launched immediately with the help of RWAs to inform applicants about the schedule of the camps to ensure maximum participation.

“All the 10 camps should have identical lay outs for facilitation centres, help desks,  disposal of applications and back office support,”  Raj Niwas said.
