A 19-year-old girl sustained injuries after she allegedly jumped off the second floor of a college building in the Vivek Vihar area on Sunday morning.

According to the police, on Sunday at 10.50 am a PCR call regarding the falling of a girl from second floor in Vivekanand Mahila College (VMC) was received at Vivek Vihar police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Surendra Choudhary said that the teenage girl was admitted to the Hedgewar Hospital with injuries on her left leg and left arm from where she was referred to the Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital for treatment of internal wounds.

"The girl, a resident of Pitampura, is pursuing her BA from the college located in Vivek Vihar. We have launched a probe into the incident," a senior police officer said.

According to a senior police officer, the girl jumped from the second floor on her own while the reason for doing so will be ascertained once she is in a condition to talk.
