As the four-day Deepotsav festival commences tomorrow in Ayodhya, the city is poised to host a grand celebration blending spirituality, tradition, and culture. This year’s Deepotsav carries special significance, being the first in the presence of Ramlala, adding a profound spiritual dimension to the festivities.
A spectacular display awaits with the lighting of 25 lakh lamps across Ayodhya, aiming to set a new record and envelop the city in a dazzling glow. On October 30, Ramkatha Park will be the center of cultural activities, featuring the Ramlila from Uttarakhand alongside performances by artists from six countries, including Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia, celebrating the global resonance of the Ramayana.
The festival will also include a mesmerizing Hanuman Chalisa dance drama, performed on the main stage, offering a spiritual experience for the attendees.
The lineup at Ramkatha Park on October 30 features performances by Ranjana Nev from Saharanpur, who will present a dance-based narrative of the Ramayana, and Preeti Singh from Agra, known as “Preeti Ke Parindey,” who will bring her unique Hanuman Chalisa dance drama to life.
Maitreya Pahari and his Delhi-based team will present “Shri Ramcharitmanas Nari Shakti,” celebrating the strength of women in Ramayanic tales. Additionally, Aparna Yadav from Lucknow will sing devotional bhajans, adding a melodic touch to the Deepotsav celebrations. These cultural events will begin at 7 pm, blending devotion and artistic expression.
From October 28 to 30, a grand Shobha Yatra procession will take place, led by 11 Ramlila groups under the Culture Department’s guidance, featuring the Shri Maruti Nandan Hanuman Adarsh Ramlila Mandal and other prominent troupes. Folk artist groups will also participate, showcasing unique performances, including Awadhi folk, Mayur dance from Mathura, and Vantangiya dance from Gorakhpur.
The Yogi government has prepared 10 major stages across Ayodhya to host this cultural spectacle, with venues including Guptar Ghat, Badi Devkali, Rama Ghat, Bharatkund, and Ram Katha Park. Performances will run from 5 pm to 9 pm daily, ensuring that each corner of Ayodhya resonates with the spirit of the festival. The Agnihotri brothers, famous for their devotional performances, will take the stage at Ram Ghat, while artists from every district of Uttar Pradesh will contribute to making this Deepotsav a truly statewide celebration.
