Ahead of the highly anticipated Delhi University Student Union’s (DUSU) polls, slated to be held on September 27, Congress’ National Students' Union of India (NSUI) and RSS affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday engaged in extensive campaigning including interactions with DU students.
ABVP candidates for the elections, including the presidential candidate Rishabh Chaudhary, the vice-presidential candidate Bhanu Pratap Singh, the secretary candidate Mitravinda Karnwal, and the joint secretary candidate Aman Kapasia, engaged in extensive campaign activities in various hostels including Rajiv Gandhi Women’s Hostel, Gwyer Hall, Mansarovar Hostel, PG Men’s Hostel, Meghdoot, and other accommodations, where they interacted with the students, discussed key issues, and sought their support for the upcoming elections.
During the interactions, the ABVP panel discussed various issues including improving campus infrastructure, enhancing hostel facilities, ensuring a more efficient and transparent examination process, need for skill-oriented courses, streamlined grievance redressal systems, and increased scholarships for marginalized students, especially in SC, ST, and OBC categories. Women’s safety and hostel allocation for postgraduates were other critical points of discussion.
Meanwhile, NSUI hosted a special interaction with Telugu students of DU, under the leadership of its National President Varun Choudhary where Telugu students had an opportunity to share their issues and suggestions regarding campus life to the candidates.
NSUI DUSU candidates also actively campaigned across several PGs and hostels, further engaging with students and highlighting the organization's commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and progressive campus for everyone at the university. During his address, Varun Choudhary expressed confidence in NSUI’s upcoming electoral campaign and stated, “We are confident that we will secure a 4-0 victory in the elections. Our manifesto reflects the real needs of students, and we will ensure every promise is fulfilled. NSUI remains committed to protecting the campus from divisive forces and fostering unity, progress, and welfare for all students.”
