Astroturf | Mindful living helps redefine destiny

What wrong I did in my previous life that my personal life has been in turmoil, faced with court cases and with no end in sight. Pundits have fleeced me enough for conducting puja to mitigate my suffering. But in vain. What is in store of my destiny here onwards. Suggest me how to come out of this impasse?” Someone came asking in a state of desperation.

For answer, first beware of the premise on which destiny stands. All species but for human beings are bound by their predetermined nature driven design parameters, with no scope for making any exception. Human beings on the contrary enjoy the exclusive privilege to make choices in life. But whenever choice option comes into play, the probability of its use and misuse remains equal. And there is no free lunch in this life. The quality and intent of the actions following choices made defines what we become due for in the emerging times. So, owning up the consequences thereof becomes imperative. That’s what binds you into a cause-effect chain, which runs in succession, stretching even to the next life. In common man’s language it implies that what you give to others – pain or pleasure – will haunt you later. Purposely to make you evolve. It needs to be remembered that we don’t have a reality independent of the whole. We, therefore, need to learn how to relate well with all and sundry forming the living world. The irony, however, is that every individual is born unique, each manifesting varying mental trait, more often in conflict with others. So, we can’t have easy go in life the way we wish. That makes it imperative upon us to care for other’s sensibilities and concerns as much as your own, overriding individual limitations. That’s the way forward to a smooth run of life. Evidently, you would have hurt your partner in the previous life. So does Saturn tenanted in the 7th house, placed adverse to Mercury identified with common sensical judgment and emotion signifying Venus indicate.

“Is there any scope to modify our destiny indications?” The man questioned. The answer is ‘no’ and ‘yes’. Should you unmindfully just flow by the usual run of life, destiny indications won’t change. If, however, you consciously exercise your exclusive empowerment tool – the faculty of discriminate intelligence – you can make amends. It is pertinent to note here that the choice option also enjoins upon you with the capacity to self-reflect, identity and acknowledge unworthy tendencies, and make conscientious choice to take corrective initiatives. You may then discriminate between ‘tempting influences induced by destiny indicators’ and ‘what is right’. That will help you redefine the course of destiny.

“But no puja helped me so far.” The man quipped. For the answer, you need to first understand how karmic carryover stretches on to next life. The choices you make and the actions thereto, as well as unfulfilled desires if any, get imprinted in your mind in the form of thought seeds. That gets carried over to the next life. As and when congenial ground is available, they come into play. Invariably, our ego identifies itself with the inherent desire and mind-trends and is tempted to pursue it as end game. If that would not be enough, our habit tendencies further play spoil sport. We, thus, create the necessary ground ourselves. So, the genesis of all problems lies in the mind. Therefore, corrections if any needs to be made at the thought plane. Pundits performing belief driven puja can’t invade your mind space to make necessary amends. If, you conduct mindfully, look withing to identify the inherent fault lines and unworthy desire trends, you can make amends through fresh educative inputs.

“Now, tell me about habit tendencies playing contrary to my interest.” Asked the man. The Sun placed adverse to Saturn points to inherent sense of fear and insecurity, which makes you habitually suspicious of others. Mars ill-disposed off to mischievous Neptune makes you unmindfully and impulsively jump into action without applying proper forethought, which may prove self-destructive. Mercury placed adverse to Saturn speaks of your fixated one-track mind, not open to look beyond for reality check. If that would not be enough, Saturn ill-disposed to Uranus accounts for your illogical reasoning. You rushed through your marriage, when you were not matured enough to handle the subtleties of a relationship. It needs to be remembered that once a choice is made, particularly in matters having lifelong bearing, the consequences thereof will stretch on for long. The result is there to see.
