A 24-year-old man was found hanging in a hotel in Dehradun on Tuesday. The officials said that the police control room informed the Raipur police station that a person had reportedly committed suicide at the Four Seasons hotel located at Vishwanath Enclave on Sahastradhara Road. A police team reached the spot and found a person hanging from a rope on the railing of the roof on the external wall of the hotel. On enquiring with the hotel staff, the deceased was identified as Ravi Rawat (24), a resident of Nehru Colony. The officials said that the field unit team was called on the spot to carry out photography and videography as per the procedure. The body was then sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (Coronation) hospital for post-mortem. The officials said that the deceased along with his business partners Anurag Rawat and Rahul had taken the said hotel on lease from hotel owner Arif Khan in August 2023. Prima facie, it has come to light that he committed suicide due to financial constraints. However, the police are currently waiting for the post-mortem report and are investigating the case from all possible angles. The police are also interrogating the deceased’s partners and other associated people and will take further action in the case accordingly, the officials added.
