A class 10 student committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, he was found unconscious in the room and doctors declared him dead when to hospital.

The incident occurred at 6.30 pm on Tuesday in IBD Colony of Kolar. Before shooting himself with the licensed pistol, the student had messaged his father 'Sorry Papa...'. When the father called and asked what happened, he said – the message was sent by mistake. The father said, 'I had told my son not to live alone.'

Preliminary police investigation has revealed that the student was under pressure due to studies. However, no suicide note has been found.

According to the police, Pradeep Arjariya works in an RO company located in MP Nagar. Elder son Ansh Arjariya (15) was a class 10 student. Pradeep was in the office at the time of the incident. Mother had gone for an evening walk with the women of the colony. Younger brother was playing outside the house. In the evening, Ansh messaged on his father's mobile, 'Sorry Papa'.

He called his son two-three times and asked – What happened? He did not respond. He asked- Where is mother? Ansh said that she has gone to the market. Told about the younger brother that he was playing downstairs. Then Pradeep said- Don't stay alone at home, you also go to play. Ansh said- I am going.

Pradeep called his wife and asked her to reach home immediately and when she reached home, the door of her flat on the first floor of the building was locked from inside. Pradeep had also reached home. They broke the door with the help of neighbours. Inside the room, Ansh was lying unconscious on the bed. A pistol and cartridges were lying nearby.

Ansh studied in Mother Teresa School. He had returned from coaching shortly before the suicide. In the morning he played cricket with friends in the colony and in the afternoon he played football.

According to sources, Pradeep Arjariya had fired in the air in the colony a year ago. The residents of the colony had complained to the police station in this regard. Ansh was aware of this illegal pistol, due to which he fired at himself. Ansh was messaging his father saying sorry papa since 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The reasons for suicide could be revealed later as statement of the family are yet to be recorded.
