World Minority Rights Day was organized at NIC Auditorium on Monday under the aegis of Lohardaga District Welfare Department. It was presided over by Project Director Sujata Kujur. Addressing the World Minority Rights Day seminar, Qureshi said that the United Nations announced to celebrate World Minority Rights Day on December 18, 1992, so that minorities can be brought to the front line by providing social, economic and educational development.

All the work which used to be done under MSDP will now continue to be done under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram, there is a need that these schemes should be widely publicized and disseminated, so that its benefits can be extended to more and more people. The state government also has a provision for loans for youth to do business at a subsidy of 40 percent under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme.
The state government also has many schemes for construction of schools and hostels for educational upliftment. People from minority communities can take advantage of those schemes. There are many schemes of the Center and the State for women empowerment. Taking advantage of which, self-help groups can make an important contribution in the development of cities, states and the country by improving their economic and social level.
