Rourkela Assistant Collector Sushmita Minz (35) was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a pond at the Sensory Park in Rourkela on Tuesday evening.
Getting information, the Plant Site police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Later, they handed over the body to her family members. An unnatural death case has been registered in this connection while further investigation was on.
According to reports, Minz came to her office but did not return home, following which her brother lodged a complaint in this connection with police on Sunday.
A security guard of the park spotted the body floating in the pond and informed the Plant Site police. Later, Fire Service personnel reached the spot and fished out the body from the pond.
Cops were examining the CCTV footage to ascertain the circumstances under which Minz came to the park and what happened to her.
However, her family members have alleged foul play behind her death. Her mother alleged, “Sushmita came to duty on Saturday. However, she didn’t return home. We lodged a missing complaint with police station on Sunday. Then, her body was found at a park on Tuesday evening. We feel she has been mentally tortured at work workplace which could be the reason behind her death.”
