In a proactive move to address residents’ concerns and streamline administrative processes, UT Estate Office, Chandigarh, on Sunday organized a grievance redressal camp at Sector-38 Community Centre aimed at resolving the people’s grievances related to properties from Sector-31 onwards.

A total of 63 applicants attended the camp, presenting their claims and relevant documents. The majority of applications were associated with General Power of Attorney (GPA) cases for the transfer of ownership concerning Lease Hold Properties allocated under specific allotment schemes.

Residents of Sector 37 raised concerns about the need for provisions for the approval of building plans under zoning regulations before the Chandigarh Estate Rules. Additionally, applicants sought updates on the status of Resumed Properties, visiting the camp in person to address their pending matters.

UT Finance Secretary Dr Vijay Namdeorao Zade, and Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer Vinay Pratap Singh visited the camp to meet with the applicants and assess the concerns firsthand.

Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh assured the residents that the Estate Office would thoroughly examine the applications in accordance with the rules and make appropriate decisions within 15 days.

Dr Zade announced the intention to organize such grievance redressal camps quarterly. He also disclosed plans to launch an Online Grievance Portal for the Estate Office to facilitate public grievances, ensuring timely resolution and reducing unnecessary objections and delays.

Notably, the Estate Office had previously organized two camps last year, resulting in the resolution of 368 grievances. In the current camp spanning two days, a reduced number of grievances (totaling 119) were recorded, indicating the successful resolution of long-pending matters over the past year.
