In alignment with the ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence’, members of the Bhubaneswar Young Urban Women Forum (YUW) have collaboratively engaged with ActionAid and CCWD to champion a safer city for women.
A delegation of seven representatives, including prominent women leaders Dipteemayee Mallick, Snigdha Das, Saraswati Parida, Lucky Mahala and Sabita Rout, held a meeting with the Twin City Commissioner of Police Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarshi on Saturday and presented a comprehensive charter of demands.
The focus of the demands was to enhance the safety and security of women in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The proactive engagement underscores the commitment of these women leaders to addressing gender-based violence and creating a more protective environment for women in urban settings.
