Two associate professors leave MMCH Daltonganj

Thursday, 21 December 2023 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

A wait for the extension of contracts and dread of not making biometric attendance, finally fell heavily for two associate professors Kumari Seema and Prashant Kumar to leave their job in the MMCH Daltonganj.

Kumari Seema was in pathology department while her husband Prashant Kumar was in pediatric department of the MMCH Daltonganj.

Their contracts had expired on 19.11.23. They were waiting for its extension. Their extension of contracts did come but when they had resigned on December 15 praying for resignations of them to be accepted with effect from 19.11.23.

In the meanwhile the state government mandated biometric attendance a must for contractual faculties having their contracts expired.

Here Seema and Prashant were finding it hard to have their biometric attendance said sources in the MMCH Daltonganj.

Sources said the two used to be out of the medical college for days together after their contracts expired  and so it was difficult for them to have their biometric attendance regularly.

Principal of the MMCH Daltonganj Dr Kamender Prasad has confirmed the resignations of two associate professors Kumari Seema and Prashant Kumar with effect from 19.11.23 the day their contracts had expired.

He said the contracts of these two had expired on 19.11.23. They were waiting for its extension.

The principal also said the couple were finding it difficult to have their biometric attendance just because of their remaining out of the medical college for days together.

The principal said the health department has made it compulsory to have regular biometric attendance for extension of contracts and here these two Seema and Prashant were giving a miss to their biometric attendance.

No specific reason has been attributed to their resignations by the two said the principal.

The principal agreed following these two resignations the strength of faculties in the MMCH Daltonganj has further depleted.

This medical college has deficiency already in faculties upto 67 percent and with two resignations the crunch of faculties has become all the more acute.

The principal said he would send requisition to the state health department to send in faculties in pathology and paediatric departments here in the medical college.
