With a joint efforts of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Dhanbad, on Saturday, tribal boy Ravi Kumar Mohali was finally reunited with his family after twelve years.
The child was recognized by his aunt Bijli Devi and after meeting both of them hugged and started crying. The child's father Dilip Mohali died in a train accident a few years ago at Pradhankhant statiln and his mother Sridevi too left him.
Giving information about the reunion , Dhanbad CWC President Uttam Kumar Mukherjee said that under the Juvenile Justice Act, as part of an effort to reunite the separated children with their families, the child was reunited with his aunt with the help of prominanat local people of the society and the local police station. The paper work was completed in their presence and after this, the biy was handed over to aunt Bijli Devi. Aunt is happy to have the child of his brother after a long gap..
CWC President said that Ravi was recovered by the Railway Police after his father's death and was kept in Sahyog Village, Bokaro.
The team that went to meet the family has assured the child's aunt that other suitable measures will be taken if she faces any problem to support the child.
In the case of two other children, the committee though found the families of the children but in both case their families refused to accept them and keep them.
Among these, one seven year old boy is a resident of Kurchi village of Govindpur police station and the other is of Kharakabad village under the same police station.
The boy from Kurchi village was sent from Patna shelter home to Dhanbad to meet his family.
The boy from Khadakabad village recognized his grandfather's house but his family members refused to recognize him. The main reason for this is said to be that his mother married a man from another had performed intereligion marriage and had left home . Later,the father too abandoned this child.
Mukharjee sais in both cases, the families have been instructed to complete all the needed paperwork aa per JJ Act so that they can be declared legally eligible for adoption.
Dhanbad DCPO Sadhna Kumari, members of Child Helpline and Rohit Kumar and Akhilesh Pandey of Sahyog Village and local police station and prominent people were present during this entire process, said Mukharjee .
