In a devastating incident on Monday morning, two individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries when their car overturned on NH-33 in the MGM Thana area, near Jamshedpur. The fatal mishap occurred around 11:30 am as a result of a burst front tire, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The victims, all residents of Kolkata, were en route to Jubilee Park to celebrate Christmas festivities. The accident happened approximately 25 km away from the city, near Gurma village.
The deceased have been identified as Dilip Roy (65) and Mohammed Uzir (42). The surviving victims, also from Kolkata, include Rafiul Mollah (35) and Jahirul Haque (43), who are in critical condition and have been transferred to Tata Main Hospital from MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH). Another injured individual, Muzibur Rahman (45), is undergoing treatment at MGMMCH with comparatively less severe injuries.
Upon learning about the mishap, the police promptly responded, bringing all five injured individuals to MGMMCH. Unfortunately, the emergency doctors declared Dilip Roy and Mohammed Uzir dead. The incident has cast a somber mood over the Christmas celebrations in the region.
