The police implemented a traffic and parking plan for the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival that started on Wednesday. The officials informed that vehicles going from Mussoorie to Dehradun will be diverted from JP Bend towards Barlowganj via King Kreg and sent towards Dehradun from Jharipani. The entry of heavy vehicles coming towards Mussoorie from Vikasnagar, Dehradun and Suakholi will be restricted during the daytime.
Vehicles will also be banned from Ambedkar Chowk towards Garhwal Terrace, Jhula Ghar and Mall Road in Mussoorie. In case of pressure of vehicles in the Kuldi market, vehicles will be diverted towards Bratt Wood Hotel and then diverted towards Clark Hotel. If the traffic jam is severe at Library Chowk, vehicles going from Dehradun towards Kempty Fall will be sent from Zero Point towards Kempty Fall via Spring Road and Kala School to Harnam Singh Marg. Vehicles coming from the Tehri bus stand towards Mussoorie will be diverted towards South Road from Anupam Chowk in Landour and the vehicles going towards Dehradun will be sent towards Civil Hospital. Besides this, Mall Road from Green Chowk via Jhulaghar will remain one-way towards Library Chowk. Informing about the parking system, the officials informed that vehicles coming from the Landour side can be parked in MDDA parking and vehicles going towards Dehradun will be diverted towards the Picture Palace bus stand via the Municipality Office in Mussoorie.
He said that there is a parking space for 100 vehicles at Picture Palace besides the parking space for about 80 small vehicles in Landour Road Parking. The tourists can also park vehicles on Kempty Road which has a parking capacity of 20 big vehicles and about 300 small vehicles. Besides this, about 80 four-wheelers and 120 two-wheelers can also be parked below the Town Hall and 400 vehicles can be parked at King Craig Parking, informed the officials. The police appealed to the drivers to cooperate with them and park their vehicles in the designated parking space only.
