In a shocking incident, three people died on the spot while another was injured in a road accident on Moradabad-Farrukhabad road in Faizganj Behta police station area of Budaun district on Thursday morning.

According to the police, a truck and a pick-up coming from different directions collided with each other resulting in the death of three occupants of the pick-up on the spot and injuries to one person.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital and sent the bodies for autopsy. 

Police officer (Bisauli) Pawan Kumar said that a truck loaded with straw collided head-on with the pick-up near Kasba Mundia Dhureki bus stand under Faizganj Behta police station in Budaun district.

He said that by the time the police pulled out the people trapped in the vehicles with the help of the local residents, three people had died. He said that those who lost their lives were identified as Izhar (22), his father Haji Imran (60), both of Moradabad. The driver of the pick-up was also killed in the accident but his identity is yet not maintained.

The injured was identified as Izhaan.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the mishap in Budaun district .He expressed his condolences. The chief minister also directed the district administration to provide proper treatment to the injured and wished for speedy recovery of the injured.

In another tragic incident, a man and his maternal nephew drowned when they went to take bath on the occasion of Amavasya at Kasganj Kachla Ganga Ghat on Thursday morning.

Reports said that Rajesh Kushwaha of Ucha in village Rashmi under Sadabad police station of Hathras district had gone to take bath in the river Ganga along with his family on the occasion of Amavasya on Thursday morning. While taking bath, Rajesh Kushwaha’s kin Gaurishankar Kushwaha started drowning. Gaurishankar’s maternal uncle Rajesh jumped into the river to save his nephew but both started drowning.

When people saw both of them drowning, they raised an alarm following which some divers jumped into the river but it was too late. Rajesh Kushwaha drowned and his body was fished out by the divers. The body of Gaurishankar Kushwaha was not found.
