Taal Darbar, played on the tune of the India’s national anthem Vande Mataram, in Sangeet Samrat Tansen’s city Gwalior has acquired global recognition to the music of Madhya Pradesh. Proclaiming nationalism in the music city selected by UNESCO, more than 1300 music lovers registered the trinity of history, culture and music of the state in the Guinness Book of World Records.

As a witness to this historic moment, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav received the certificate from the Guinness World Records organization. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that to make this achievement memorable and to honour all musicians, Tabla Day will be celebrated in the entire state on December 25. On this occasion, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar were present.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the artists of Taal Darbar gave a spectacular performance. Today people could witness Lord Indra’s durbar in the event. I am blessed to be the witness of this musical performance. A group photo of all the Tabla practitioners was also taken with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

Principal Secretary Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that the darbar which was adorned by Tabla players as young as four years old along with veterans was also unique in the sense that three generations of the state were playing Tabla simultaneously. Today this city of Tansen was dancing to the beat of drums on Tansen’s land.

The melodious music emanating from the beats of the tablas is a musical tribute to the motherland and to the nation from the heart of the country. He congratulated all the music gurus and students for being witness to this historic moment.

Based on the concept of the national song Vande Mataram, the tabla players paid musical tribute to Sangeet Samrat Tansen on the tune of Teen talas.

‘Taal Darbar’, a global picture of the art and culture of Madhya Pradesh, is a cultural salute before the centenary of Tansen celebrations, which proclaims that every laya and every taal is a discipline of life and it is also an essential part of human life.
