Dreaded gangster Sushant Dhalsamant was shifted from the VIMSAR in Burla to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack on Thursday due to severe health complications.
Dhalsamant was carried in a live support ambulance with ICU facility from the VIMSAR to the SCB in the presence of Balangir police.
Dhalsamant was undergoing treatment in VIMSAR due to cardiac problem. He had been brought from the Balangir jail and admitted to the hospital on December 17.
As per reports, Dhalsamant had high blood sugar, cardiac problem and other complications. Since there was no improvement in his health condition while undergoing treatment at the VIMSAR, the hospital authorities referred him to SCB Hospital.
Sushant and his younger brother Sushil were arrested in January 2016 and initially lodged at the Choudwar jail. Police had made prayer in court to keep the two gangster siblings in two different jails as it was not safe to keep the duo in a single prison. The court had then allowed the Commissionerate police to keep Sushil in Baleswar jail and Sushant at Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar.
However, Sushant was later shifted from Jharpada to Balangir jail.
