The 19th Inter-School Science Exhibition-2023 & 1st Inter School Art & Craft Exhibition organised at Ispat English Medium School, Sector-20 of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was inaugurated on 12th December, 2023 by Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge (DIC), RSP with the additional Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant. Mr. S Tripathy, ED (MM), Dr. B K Hota, ED (M&HS), Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (P&A), Mr. Alok Verma, ED (Mines), Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A), Mr. P K Swain, CGM (TA & CSR) and other senior officers of RSP, students and teachers from different schools as well as parents were present on the occasion. The programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp. Notably, around 350 students from different schools of the steel city participated in the one day exhibition.
Mr. Atanu Bhowmick went round the exhibition and took a keen interest in the exhibits, interacted with the students about their projects. The theme for this year’s exhibition is ‘Science for Sustainable Living.’ 15 schools of Rourkela are participating in the event. 256 students presented 128 Projects under three categories in the Science exhibition.
The participants showcased their scientific acumen through a number of innovative projects based on the themes like Digital & Technological Solutions, Recycling of E- Waste, Space Settlement, Ecosystem for Sustainable Living, Alternative Fuel & its working and Mathematical Modelling and many more.
Simultaneously, the 1st Inter-School Art & Craft Exhibition showcased the artistic talents of 80 students from different schools. The projects explored themes like 'Beauty of Steel Township' and 'Best out of Waste,' highlighting the creative potential in repurposing materials.
The exhibitions provided a platform for students to demonstrate their scientific and artistic acumen, fostering a spirit of innovation and creativity.
Mr. Tarun Misra presided over the closing function and handed over the prizes for best projects in different categories. The day-long event concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
