State Foundation Day reminds us of our countrys glorious heritage

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the programme to celebrate the foundation day of the states reminds of the glorious heritage of India. It is a celebration of the unity and integrity of the country.

He said that the commencement of the freedom movement was from Bengal itself. Bengal is filled with glory of great personalities, among them Raja Rammohan Roy, Gurudev Ravindra Nath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Jagdish Chandra Bose, Subhash Chandra Bose, Amartya Sen, Suchitra Sen etc. are worth mentioning. They brought glory to the name of India. The state of West Bengal has touched everyone with the mantra "Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat". The cultural heritage of the society of West Bengal has enriched India. Navratri and Durga-Pujan of Bengali society have sent a pleasant message with purity to the society. Governor Patel was addressing the Foundation Day programme of West Bengal on the theme of "Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat" at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur.

He extended greetings on the foundation day and remembered the contribution of the great men of Bengal by paying homage to them.

Referring to the continuous efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the development of West Bengal, Governor Patel said that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jan-Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission have brought a revolutionary change in the lives of the people. A new dimension has been established to make their life enjoyable. The Governor also extended greetings to President Smt. Droupadi Murmu on her birthday.

Member of Parliament Rakesh Singh said that West Bengal is a special state of the country. It is specially known for art, culture, literature, philosophy. West Bengal is the fortunate state, where maximum revolutionaries were born. Bengal is that holy land, where the bugle of revolution was blown against the tyranny of the British and a call for independence was made.

He said that Swami Vivekananda, a son of Bengal, had announced on the soil of America that "one day India will lead the whole world." Now this dream seems to be coming true. Governor Patel said that Bengal has given a new direction to the country and the world. Here purity has done the work of giving a pleasant message to the society.

Governor Patel inaugurated the West Bengal Foundation Day celebration by offering floral tributes to the statue of Rani Durgavati and lighting the lamp. In this, a mesmerizing cultural presentation was given by the Bengali society. The Bengali song of former MP Smt. Jayashree Banerjee left everyone mesmerized.

MLA Ashok Rohani, Principal Secretary and Chairman of the Federal Council Anirudh Mukherjee, Secretary to the Governor D.P. Ahuja, Deepak Khandekar from Tribal Cell in Raj Bhavan, former MP Smt. Jayashree Banerjee, Commissioner Abhay Verma, Vice Chancellor Kapil Dev Mishra, President of Bengal Club Subroto Pal and eminent citizens of Bengali society were present.
