Traffic pressure is increasing on the major roads of Indore. The biggest problem in Indore city is the passenger buses coming from other cities because these passenger buses from other cities and other states come directly to the Sarwate bus stand located in the center of Indore city.
Sarwate Bus Stand is located in the center of Indore city, hence all the buses come to Sarwate Bus Stand via all the major routes of the city and through all the major squares.
Due to this, there is frequent traffic jam on the roads in Sarwate Bus Stand and surrounding major squares. Citizens told that two bus stands have been built by the district administration in the outer areas of Indore, one of which has been built in nyta mundla near RTO office Indore and the other bus stand has been built at kumrikheda inter state bus terminal at MR 10 road, but both these bus stands are currently under construction.
If both these bus stands become operational then the passenger buses coming from other cities and other states will stop only in the outskirts of Indore and thus the traffic pressure on the internal roads of Indore will be greatly reduced which will reduce pollution and accidents and problems of traffic jam will also be resolved. DCP zone 3 Indore Pankaj Pandey told The Pioneer that talks will be held with Indore Development Authority (IDA) and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) regarding earlier opening of bus stand. CEO of Indore Development Authority R P Ahirwar told that the work of both the bus stands is almost complete and very soon both the bus stands will start operational in the next few days.
