Service to suffering humanity is the biggest human religion: Guv

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that service to the suffering humanity is the biggest religion of human beings. The Governor was addressing the inaugural programme of one day Junior Red Cross Regional Conference at Samanvay Bhavan on World Red Cross Day on May 8. He said that today is World Red Cross Day as well as World Thalassemia Day.

The Red Cross was founded by Henry Dunant with the aim of providing quick service and assistance to the soldiers injured during the war. The Red Cross is a self-motivated service based on the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, unity and universality. The principles of Indian culture and values lie at the core of the Red Cross campaign. It is the responsibility of every citizen to help Thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia patients by donating blood regularly.

Patel said that at present Red Cross is doing social service work through societies and hospitals in many countries of the world. Along with providing facilities for education and sports to children, it is also necessary to develop a sense of social service in them. For this purpose, Junior Red Cross Society has been established, in which school children can join Red Cross.

In the one-day regional conference of Junior Red Cross Society, children will be connected with the innovations of social service.

The Governor said that the Junior Red Cross branch includes students in the age group of 12 to 18 years from more than 18 thousand schools. Today the biggest challenge of the world is poverty and illiteracy. Every child in the school can bring a big change by being aware.

Patel said that the whole world is one family. In Indian philosophy, considering the formula of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as the basis, service to the suffering humanity is the ultimate duty. Reminding the statement of Swami Vivekananda, he said that it is also a good fortune to get the opportunity to serve. Service never goes in vain. Include the works of service and welfare of humanity in your daily routine.

Red Cross website www.redcrossmp.org and annual calendar were released by Governor Patel and School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar. Piggy banks were provided in the form of Seva Nidhi Bank to inculcate the spirit of service through their own savings among the children who came from different districts. Cash amounts were donated by Governor Patel and Education Minister Singh for social service.

School Education Minister Parmar said that education is not limited to knowledge of alphabets. Education is a movement for the overall development of the child, social reform and solving the problems of the society. The purpose of service is rooted in the Red Cross, which is the basic tenet of Indian philosophy. Concern for neighbour is also expressed in Indian philosophy. A new education policy has been prepared in the country in the year 2020, the aim of which is to enable India to face new challenges and to make India as the best and powerful India to help the whole world. Adopting new technology in the state, 240 hours artificial intelligence education is being started in all the schools, so that children will be able to face the current challenges.

About 800 students from 7 districts of the state who had a wonderful enthusiasm for social service participated in the one-day Junior Red Cross Regional Conference. The programme was inaugurated by garlanding on the pictures of Bharat Mata and Red Cross founder Henry Dunant and lighting the lamp. Chairman of Madhya Pradesh branch of Red Cross Dr. Gagan Kolhe and Vice Chairman Bharat Jhanwar and other members were present in the ceremony.
