In a significant development in the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign, security forces, including Chaibasa Police, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar, unearthed three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the hilly area around village Kudaburu under Sonuwa police station in West Singhbhum district. The incident unfolded during a joint campaign, with the bomb disposal squad playing a crucial role in identifying and neutralizing the threats.

A senior police official, West Singhbhum: “The security forces, comprising Chaibasa Police, CRPF units, and Jharkhand Jaguar, conducted a successful joint operation leading to the discovery and disposal of three IEDs. This operation is part of our continuous efforts to curb Naxal activities in the region. The bomb disposal squad played a critical role in ensuring the safety of the area and its residents.”

The campaign targeted key leaders of the banned CPI(Maoist) Naxalite organization, including Misir Besra, Anmale, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahta, Sagden Angriya, and Ashwin, along with their squad members in the Kolhan area. A total of 26 teams were formed to conduct the campaign continuously in the identified areas. In the next phase of the operation, a joint campaign is scheduled to commence in villages under Goilkera police station, including Kuida, Chhota Kuida, Maradiri, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilayabeda Boypaissang, Katamba, Bayhatu, Husipi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorab, Gagburu, Luiya, and other border areas.

“We are committed to maintaining peace and security in the region. The joint campaign is a proactive step to counter Naxal activities and ensure the safety of our residents. We appreciate the cooperation and coordination among the various security forces involved in this operation,” said the official.

The intensified efforts against Naxal activities underscore the authorities' dedication to maintaining law and order in West Singhbhum, reflecting a united front in the face of security challenges.

In response to evolving security concerns, law enforcement agencies have ramped up security measures in Naxal-affected regions, implementing a comprehensive strategy to thwart potential threats and maintain public safety.

He said: “In light of recent developments and to ensure the safety of residents in Naxal-prone areas, we have initiated a proactive approach by increasing our security presence. The primary objective is to create a robust deterrent against any potential nefarious activities and maintain law and order in the region.”
