The development of basic infrastructure will address the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable people. Robust basic infrastructure will improve surface connectivity, air connectivity, generate green energy, and ensure overall development in various sectors. The guarantee is given by Sankalp Patra or Vision Document 2023.
The vision document 2023 expresses commitment to expand the expressway network leading the state to the top position in terms of solar energy production and usage in next five years. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that this Vision Document is the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. All concerning departments have been instructed to start work with well-designed roadmap within seven days for the implementation of resolves.
The Vision Document states that the infrastructure budget was 2,935 crores in 2002-03, which has now increased to more than 56,000 crores. More than 5,000 reservoirs have been constructed and renovated under the Amrit Sarovar Yojana. Energy production was 5,173 megawatts in 2003, which has now increased to over 29,000 megawatts, an increase of almost five times. The length of roads in 2001-02 was only 60,000 kilometers, which has now increased to over 5 lakh kilometers. Railway projects costing more than Rs.77,000 crores are progressing well.
Development Boards for Bundelkhand, Vindhya, Mahakoshal Regions
According to the Vision Document, a Development Board with an investment of Rs. 5,000 crores will be set up to take care of development projects in Bundelkhand. Development Boards will also be set up for the Vindhya and Mahakoshal regions. A task force will be created to revive and develop Chambal and Bundelkhand ponds and develop them as Amrit Sarovars.
Under the Smart City Mission, ongoing projects in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna, and Ujjain will be completed in a time-bound manner with an investment of Rs. 10,000 crores. Urban infrastructure development will be carried out in all cities under the Chief Minister's Urban Infrastructure Development Mission, including road construction, traffic improvement, beautification, and park development. Urban areas in the vicinity of Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur will be developed, strengthening metropolitan services. Water supply and sewerage projects in more than 30 cities will be completed under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. Gas connections will be provided through PNG pipelines in all major cities. With the support of the central government, solid houses and other basic facilities will be provided to those living in slums. To develop sustainable cities in the state, 1,000 urban planners will be appointed in urban local bodies.
World's largest 600-megawatt floating solar power plant in Omkareshwar
Under the Atal Jyoti Yojana, every household will continue to receive 100 units of electricity for 100 rupees. The construction of the world's largest 600-megawatt Omkareshwar Floating Solar Power Plant in Khandwa will be completed on time. By March 2024, all faulty transformers in the state will be replaced in mission mode, and a helpline number will be started to register complaints about faulty transformers for citizens.
The Narmada Progati Path, connecting 867 km in the state for the expansion of the express network, will link Bhopal, Damoh, Katni, Rewa, Sidhi, and Singrauli. The 676 km long Vindhya Expressway will connect Bhopal, Damoh, Katni, Rewa, Sidhi, and Singrauli. The 450 km long Malwa Narmada Vikas Path will connect Mandsaur, Ujjain, Indore, and Burhanpur. The 299 km long Atal Pragati Path will connect Muraina, Shivpuri, and Bhind. The 746 km long Central India Vikas Path will connect Betul to Muraina.
In order to ensure state-wide connectivity and build one lakh kilometers of roads, an investment of Rs. 10,000 crores will be made in the next 5 years under the Madhya Pradesh Road Maintenance and Development Program. Under this, construction and maintenance of roads will be carried out. With an investment of 3,000 crores, an 8-lane elevated Lake Corridor and Western Bhopal Bypass will be constructed.
Rewa, Singrauli, and Shahdol to have air services
In collaboration with the central government, under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme, modernization of 80 railway stations will be carried out in the next 5 years. In collaboration with the central government, a master plan will be prepared to start Vande Metro and Vande Sleeper trains in Madhya Pradesh.
In collaboration with the central government, construction of airports in Rewa, Singrauli, and Shahdol will be completed in a record time. In collaboration with the central government, the expansion of the Ujjain airstrip will be ensured, and other airstrips will be expanded as needed. With the support of central government, a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hub will be developed at Raja Bhoj Airport to provide employment or self-employment opportunities in the aviation industry. By 2027, full operation of Bhopal and Indore metros will be ensured. A master plan will be prepared for the development and expansion of metro lines in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and other major cities.
