“I personally feel there’s nothing bigger than charity. When I was a child, my mother taught me that only a breadwinner can feel the hunger of the needy. To earn that livelihood later in life, education is the key,’’ said Dr Narayani Panda, renowned gynaecologist and obstetrician of Sambalpur while contributing Rs 15 lakh to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose College of Putibandh, Sambalpur.
It indeed is very tough to be independent without quality education which starts from college itself. One developed college/university can lead several students to a successful life. All alumni should come forward keeping the same thing in mind. Collaborate with ‘Mo College’ and contribute as per your potential in terms of financially or intellectually, he urged the alumni.
The college will be procuring several furniture as well as computers, smart interactive boards, air conditioners, library equipment, Xerox machines and wheelchairs for the differently able students.
“The contribution of Dr Panda has ignited the spirits of students, faculties as well as guardians while setting another bright example of noble contribution,’’ said college Principal Dr Pradeep Kumar Harpal.
Previously Dr Narayani Panda has contributed Rs 20 lakh to Government Women’s College towards its infrastructural development and Rs 30lakh to GM University for its Advanced IT Centre which highlighted her selfless love and contributions towards her alma-mater. She has also contributed to several ‘corpus’ funds which aim to help deprived students. While handing over the amount to the ‘Mo College’ fund, NSCB College principal Dr Harpal, former principal Dr Sikata Panda, Prof Dullav Kumar Sha, Dr Raghumani Nayak and Harihar Mallik were present at Dr Panda’s residence.
