Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal (A Regional Centre of National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi) and Archaeological Survey of India, Bhopal Circle jointly organized a daylong Teachers Training Workshop on Thursday on the theme "Evolution of Earth and Archaeology" during World Heritage Week - 2023 at Udaygiri: A World Heritage Site. 27 teachers from various schools were participated in this workshop.
In the beginning of the workshop, Scientist-C of the RMNH, Bhopal Shri Manik Lal Gupta delivered a lecture on "Evolution of Earth". He detailed about the various stage of evolution of earth. Shri Gupta also discussed about the main features of earth surface.
Manoj Kumar Kurmi, Superintending Archaeologist from Archaeological Survey of India, Bhopal Circle explained the importance of archaeology. He also made an appeal to the participant teachers for promoting awareness among the students towards conservation of archaeology for safeguarding the culture.
During the visit of Udaygiri caves, Sandhya, Assistant Archaeologist from Archaeological Survey of India, Bhopal Circle informed that the Udayagiri caves are group of twenty rock-cut caves near Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh in which two caves are related to Jain religion & rest of caves are related to Hindu religion. She informed that these caves were build in the beginning of fifth century. The petrography available in the Shankh Lipi, Brahmi Lipi, Nagri Lipi and Sanskrit Lipi.
Participation Certificates were distributed to the participant teachers during concluding session of the workshop.
