The residents living in the suburbs of Brahmapur town have demanded a full-fledged international airport here under the UDAN scheme.
“Instead of initiating steps for a full-fledged airport at any continent location, the State Government sticks to reviving the old airport that functioned in Rangeilunda during the British era. But it is planned to provide only five seated air bus services between Brahmapur and Bhubaneswar twice in a week from Rangeilunda. The Government looks silent on the 5,000 meters runway, tower, terminal and other connected amenities which are available in a full-fledged airport,” said residents’ association president Sanjib Kumar Pattanayak.
He demanded immediate action from the State Government to set up an international airport in Bramhapur.
