Keeping in mind the general elections ahead, raids were carried out on liquor traders and factories and their employees in various districts like Khordha, Balangir, Boudh and Sambalpur and media reports say that more than Rs 300 crore was seized. But till now, the government agencies have not disclosed how much money was seized and from whom, said the Congress on Saturday.
State Congress spokesperson Rajani Kumar Mohanty demanded that the source of the black money and how the liquor traders were able to accumulate such huge amounts and for what reason be informed to the people. If the Central and State Governments want to reveal the sources of the money and other details of the seizure, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should be formed and monitored by a sitting judge.
