nThe Chhattisgarh government is gearing up to pay the pending bonus of Rs. 3,716.38 crore to farmers for the Kharif marketing years 2014–15 and 2015–16, the government said on Thursday.
The government had promised to ensure the settlement of dues for two years to farmers under the 'Modi ki Guarantee'.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had announced that, in honour of Good Governance Day on December 25, the pending bonus will be disbursed to the farmers.
A bonus disbursement programme will be organized at all levels on December 25. Sai will engage with farmers through video conferencing.
Along with this, housing approval has been granted to over 18 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The government has also initiated the procurement of 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs. 3,100 per quintal.
