Poor roads exposed in State capital

Heavy rains in September have washed away the roads of the state and it has been revealed that more than 500 roads of about one and a half thousand kilometers length are in dilapidated condition. There are many roads on which there are potholes up to 2 feet deep.

There is a possibility of rain for a few days. Therefore the roads will not be repaired. As soon as the rain stops after September 25, efforts to improve the condition of the roads will begin.

There are about 4900 kilometers of Municipal Corporation and PWD roads in Bhopal. About 30 percent of these roads have become dilapidated due to rain. Be it the colonies of Kolar Road or the roads of Hamidia Road, Anand Nagar, Indrapuri, it has become difficult to even pass over them. At the same time, the condition of many roads of the old city including Hoshangabad Road, Karond, Ashoka Garden is similar.

There are potholes on the roads due to rain. People get injured by falling into potholes. At the same time, as soon as the rain stops, clouds of dust start flying on these roads.

The condition of the roads has worsened due to the rains in September. In fact, after the rains stopped in August, many roads including JK Road, Danish Kunj, Char Imli, Shyamala Hills, Thandi Road near Shaurya Smarak were repaired by the Corporation and PWD. There was heavy rain for several days in September. Due to this the roads were uprooted again.

The condition of the road from ITI to Anand Nagar on Raisen Road is not good. At some places, huge potholes have formed and at some places clouds of dust are flying.

The road at the left turn at Anna Nagar intersection has become completely dilapidated.

Due to the dilapidated condition of the roads, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Frank Noble A has also written a letter to PWD. Also held a meeting with officials of the mechanical department. In which he has asked to repair the road.
