Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are competing for self propaganda, said Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Sarat Pattanayak here on Tuesday.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification to construct a selfie point in all universities and Central educational institutions. By this, there would be a cutout of Modi where students can take selfies on their android phones and upload it. For this, crores of rupees would be spent from the Central exchequer, said Pattanayak.
Similarly, the BJD Government is spending Odisha’s poor tax payers’ money thinking that it is their party funds. Recently, the State Government through the ‘Samannwita Yuba Bikash Karyakram’ is spending crores of rupees from the State exchequer to strengthen the BJD’s youth and student wings, he said.
In the last 24 years, in the tenure of Naveen Patnaik, youths have gone disarray. Besides, the State Government has not formed a youth policy and failed to deliver in its promise to provide 2 lakh jobs every year. Similarly, the Central Government has failed in its assurance to provide 2 crore jobs every year, said Pattanayak.
