Photos of deceased and injured in Odisha train tragedy released

In a bid to aid identification and assist the affected families, the Indian Railways has released a link containing photos of the deceased and injured individuals involved in the tragic train accident that took place in Odisha. The incident, which occurred on June 2, at Bahanaga station in Balasore district of Odisha, has caused immense grief and shock.

The family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers of the passengers affected in that unfortunate accident can locate using the link of photos of the deceased, lists of passengers admitted in different hospitals and also about unidentified bodies using the links.

Railway Helpline number 139 is working round the clock for connecting the families and relatives of passengers affected in the rail mishap.

Officials of East Coast Railways said that three passengers from Jharkhand were killed in the tragic train mishap while two sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Balasore.

The official spokesperson of the Indian Railways stated that the decision to release the photos was made with the utmost sensitivity and after consulting with the concerned authorities. The intention behind this initiative is to ensure swift identification and reunification of the victims with their families.

The released link contains a comprehensive gallery of photographs showcasing the faces of the deceased and the injured passengers. The photographs are accompanied by relevant details such as age, gender, and any visible identifying marks that could aid in the identification process. It is expected that the public's cooperation and vigilance will play a crucial role in identifying the victims accurately.

Furthermore, the Railways has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to provide medical assistance and support to the injured individuals. Adequate medical facilities have been set up at nearby hospitals, and efforts are underway to ensure their well-being and recovery.
