Panic gripped the patients and their attendants after a fire broke out at the Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital (MCH) here on Monday.
The fire occurred outside the chemo ward of the hospital, reportedly due to a short circuit in the compressor of an Air Conditioner.
The flame was brought under control by the fire brigade immediately after they got the information. There was neither any casualty nor was anybody injured in the mishap.
According to reports, patients as well as their attendants raised an alarm after noticing smoke emanating from the AC. They immediately brought it to the notice of the authorities of the hospital and the Fire Department was soon informed.
