5T Chairman VK Pandian undertook a review of the ongoing transformation at the Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple here on Saturday. Interacting with Brahmapur Municipal Corporation officials, he emphasised the urgency of adhering to timelines for project completion.
Notably, Brahmapur's iconic Budhi Thakurani Temple is on track for a remarkable transformation with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik having approved Rs 18.91 crore for its redevelopment in July. This move has garnered attention from devotees of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, particularly during the famous Budhi Thakurani Yatra held biennially.
The redevelopment aims to preserve the temple's historical significance by embracing the Kalinga architectural style. The initiatives include a Yajna Kund, a temple office, a boundary wall, gardens and an entrance. Especially, essential facilities like hand-washing points, multipurpose halls, staff accommodations, a kitchen and a Bhoga Mandapa will elevate the visitors’ experience.
Going beyond the temple's boundaries, plans encompass road improvements, dedicated parking spaces, an auditorium and landscaping initiatives, all geared towards enhancing accessibility and aesthetics.
“We the Brahmapur people extend our sincere gratitude to CM Naveen Patnaik and 5T Chairman VK Pandian for their instrumental roles in advancing this much-awaited facelift,” said State Planning Board Member and former Brahmapur MLA Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik.
