The Orissa Medical Service Association (OMSA) has condemned the attack on Rajnagar Community Health Centre (CHC) doctor Ashutosh Barik by hooligans on November 29.
The OMSA threatened to resort to an agitation if police fail to arrest the attackers soon.
OMSA Kendrapada district president Dr Sanjit Sethy, secretary Dr Niranjan Kar and former district secretary Dr Kishore Chandra Mishra alleged that though more than 12 days have passed since the incident, police have failed to arrest the accused involved in attacking the on-duty medical officer.
Notably, on November 30, the doctors and staffs of the Rajnagar CHC staged a dharna demanding arrest of the accused. Getting information, Rajnagar MLA Dhruba Sahu, Rajnagar police station IIC Ajay Kumar Jena reached the spot and assured the doctors of action against the accused.
Later, Rajnagar CHC Medical Officer Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty lodged an FIR with the Rajnagar police in this connection.
