Taking cognizance of the fact that many departments and agencies in the State were forcing the holders of domicile certificates of Uttarakhand to produce the permanent residence certificate as well, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to ensure that the practice is stopped with immediate effect. Acting on the orders of the CM, secretary, general administration department, Vinod Kumar Suman has directed the divisional commissioners, district magistrates and all heads of departments that in the cases where the domicile certificate is needed, the demand for the permanent resident certificate should not be made.
He said that a government order (GO) of the general administration department dated September 28, 2007 regarding the non requirement of permanent resident certificate is already in force and should be strictly followed in this regard.
