Right after taking oath as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday evening assumed charge at Mantralaya in Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur.
Sai performed traditional religious rituals at the Mantralaya premises before assuming office.
Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma were present on the occasion.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahoo and Director General of Police Ashok Juneja greeted the Chief Minister.
After assuming office, Vishnu Deo Sai also met senior officials from various departments of the ministry at his chamber.
Later talking to the media, Sai said the priority of his government would be to fulfill the election manifesto named as “Modi ki guarantee”.
Soon a meeting of the cabinet would be convened to implement the welfare schemes promised, he said.
