NCPSL making efforts to preserve Sindhi language

On the occasion of Indian Language Day, a symposium and discussion was organized in Sant Hirdaramnagar by National Council for Development of Sindhi Language (NCPSL)  Government of India.

In the program held in the auditorium of Paradise Public School, efforts made for the preservation of Sindhi language and new suggestions were discussed.

Giving information about the sub-languages of Sindhi,  Nand Sanmukhani said that due to the absence of a province, there have been obstacles in the preservation of the language. Alternative solutions should be found and implemented.

Sahitya Akademi-winning senior writer Ki Kheeman U Mulani said that social organizations should use their buildings for Sindhi language classes. Interest for literature has to be awakened among the youth.

Senior litterateur Bhagwan Babani told that he is conducting evening Sindhi teaching classes at Bhagwan Kala Kendra in Sant Hirdaram Nagar, a suburb of Bhopal, in which the interest of the youth is being seen.

Retired ADG MR Asudani  said that in the new education policy, there is a provision for teaching and training in mother tongue in primary classes as per the three language formula. Its benefit should be taken.

Ashok Manwani, member of the Sindhi Language Advisory Board of the Sahitya Akademi, Government of India, said that the youth should be motivated to develop love for the language. Drama staging and programs related to other arts are helpful in this. Singer and poet Nari Lachhwani said that today youth also need guidance to correct pronunciation defects. Shri KT Dadlani gave information about the merits of Sindhi language.

Regarding the objective of the program, Kavita Israni, while welcoming the guest speakers on behalf of the Council, said that the birth anniversary of great poet Subramaniam Bharati is celebrated as Indian Language Day.

 Bharti stressed throughout his life on the advancement of Indian languages, including Hindi. The program was conducted by Harsha Moolchandani "Sarita".
