Most of the schools to remain closed to avoid inconvenience

Monday, 25 September 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

In the wake of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi's visit to the state capital to attend BJP's Mahakumbh on Monday, many roads of the city will remain diverted due to his visit and to avoid inconvenience most of the schools will remain closed. Exams have also been postponed in many schools.

Parents are being informed about this for the last 2 days. The school management has sent SMS and WhatsApp messages. School operators have taken this decision due to heavy traffic and route diversion. However, the Education Department has not declared any official holiday. DEO Anjani Kumar said that no order has been issued to close the schools.

Most of the schools located in BHEL area will remain closed on Monday.

St. Xavier School spokesperson Vasundhara Sharma said that the main program of PM is around St. Xavier, hence it is very difficult to open the school. Many other private schools present in BHEL area will also remain closed. The school administrators have taken a decision regarding this at their level. If the school administrators are to be believed, they do not want to talk about this matter.

Many schools also had exams from September 25, which have been postponed. The principal has messaged the parents regarding this. In which it has been said that these exams will be held again soon. On the other hand, no message of any kind has been sent to the students in government schools. All such schools will continue to function as usual.

DPS Principal Ajay Sharma said that due to diversion of roads, it has been decided to declare holiday in all branches of DPS. It has been seen many times that children get stuck in traffic or face difficulties in reaching school.

Vasundhara Sharma from St. Joseph's School told that students have exams on this day. In such a situation, if children are not able to reach school then there will be more problems.

Group Director of IES School, Manisha Kavthekar said that the schools will remain closed on September 25 due to traffic diversion. At the same time, LNCT School Principal Chaitanya Saxena said that if children come from all parts of the city, they will face problems due to traffic, hence the holiday has been kept.

There is every possibility of markets remaining closed in the BHEL area. However, if Chimanlal Arya of BHEL Traders Committee is to be believed, the markets will remain open. If any order or protocol comes from the administration, then in this situation the markets may be closed. Shramshree Committee Chairman Ram Babu Sharma said that the markets and mandis present in the area will remain open for the time being.

Even when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Bhopal in June 2023, many schools were kept closed. During this period, most of the main roads of the city were closed, due to which the students had to face inconvenience in commuting.

In June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Vande Bharat trains running from Rani Kamlapati station to Indore and Jabalpur. Apart from this, he participated in BJP's Mera Booth Sabse Strong campaign.
