Modi virtually inaugurates Viksit Bharat@2047 programme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – Voice of Youth programme. Governor Mangubhai Patel participated in a local programme organised at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center today. The programme was co-ordinated by NITI Aayog.

In the programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the youth regarding the resolve and vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He said that this is the right time to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. One should work with the spirit that whatever work every individual and institution does is the work for the nation. He said that India starts with I which can be interpret as what can I do to make India developed? We will have to work with the spirit of performing our duties for the nation with devotion and honesty. The Prime Minister requested all educational institutions, academicians, students and every citizen of the country to come forward and contribute their best and inspire the society by becoming role models by their example.

In the local programme, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education K. C. Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Governor D.P. Ahuja, Vice Chancellors of various universities, directors of national educational institutions, faculty members and students were present. Professors and students from universities across the state participated virtually in the programme as well.

After the inauguration, panel discussions of experts were organised with the participation of students on the topics of Innovation, Science and Technology, Thriving and Sustainable Economy and Utilization of Youth – Viksit Bharat@ 2047 in the local programme.

During the first session in the panel discussion, on Innovation, Science and Technology, Sunil Kumar, Professor Ajay Singh, Professor G. Dixit, Vardhaman Soni and Prachi Aggarwal described science and technology as the power of development and youth leadership as its basis. He suggested to include practical subjects in the courses, to connect industries in the form of workshops for the work experience of students of technical institutions, to provide a platform to solve the needs and problems of industries in educational institutions. In the field of medicine, a discussion was held on the possibilities of providing medical services to the patients through science and technology. Emphasis has been laid on incorporating Indian knowledge traditions with research in modern science.

In the panel discussion on the topic of Thriving and Sustainable Economy in the second session, Amarjeet Khalsa, Anirudh Chauhan, Pulkit Sharma, Pradeep Karamvelkar discussed the direction of infrastructure development, increase in working capabilities of Railways, continuous changes in technology in the manufacturing industry, additive manufacturing, importance of logistics and infrastructure and accelerating industry-based skill development efforts. It was said that real development is sustainable development. The present period is a golden period for self-employment and enterprises. There is no dearth of capital for a good idea.

In the panel discussion on the topic Utility of Youth – Viksit Bharat@ 2047 in the third session, Ashutosh Singh, Siddharth Aggarwal, Virendra Vyas discussed the need for the youth to have a sense of duty, pride in their knowledge, tradition and heritage, Viksit Bharat is not just prosperity but we should also go for advanced minds and positivity, development should be people-oriented and people-based. The true development of the country lies in community participation only.
