After a relatively warm November the season of shivering cold has begun in the entire state including the capital city. There was a severe cold throughout the state on Saturday. The temperature of the Kanke area fell to 4 degrees. The temperature in Ranchi was also recorded at 8 degrees. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, it may remain partly cloudy till December 19, but after that it is expected to clear up. Cloud cover will reduce the maximum temperature. This will increase the cold during the day. After the sky clears, the minimum mercury will come down. The temperature may drop further from December 20.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be a change in the weather in the state from Monday. South-easterly winds are expected in the next 24 hours. There will be light clouds in the sky, due to which there is a possibility of increase in minimum temperature. There is hope of getting relief from morning and night noises. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that the state is being affected by north-westerly winds. Because of this the minimum temperature is between 6.7 °C and 11 °C. There is no possibility of any major change in the mercury level for the next three days. After that, the temperature may drop further from December 20.
The minimum mercury was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius in December this year. Last year, the lowest was 8.5 degrees Celsius on 17 December 2022. The maximum temperature in the capital and surrounding areas is also one degree below normal. It was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius.
