Marandi smells ‘Uniform Scam’ in Hazaribag Dist

Thursday, 28 December 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi has expressed the possibility of a scam in purchasing uniforms of government school children in Hazaribag. The former chief minister, in this connection, has also written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the state for proper investigation in the case and to ensure strict action against the guilty officials.

The former CM in his letter has mentioned that Hazaribagh MLA Manish Jaiswal had raised the issue of irregularities in distribution of poor-quality uniforms in government schools of the district.

State Project Director, Jharkhand (Education Department) had issued guidelines related to distribution of children's uniforms to the concerned officials of all the districts on August 8. Going beyond the prescribed norms, District Education Superintendent of Hazaribagh ordered the supply of uniforms to an NGO of another district without tender and without publishing it in local newspapers. This is against the rules.

Also, its quality turned out to be so poor that sweaters and dresses started tearing within a week.: Babulal has written that in the guidelines issued by the State Project Director, it was said that if the SHGs running in the district can complete the work of sweaters and dresses within the stipulated time, then this work has to be done through them. Otherwise, funds are to be provided to the children in their bank accounts through DBT.

But the rules and regulations were set aside by Hazaribagh DSE for the sake of commission embezzlement. Rs 12 crore was withdrawn by ordering the supply of clothes to the favorite SHG. Expecting from the CM, Babulal has said that he will get the matter investigated and will take action against the guilty officer.

Meanwhile, in another development Marandi said that due to the apathy of the state government, there is lack of sufficient material in Vikshit Bharat rath. There is a need to make it more effective because even today many needy people are deprived of getting the central government schemes. Modi ji's aim is to provide all the needy with these schemes. Get benefits of all schemes.

CP Singh, present on the occasion said that the economic standard of living of the poor of India is now improving due to Modi ji's schemes. MLA Naveen Jaiswal said that this Rath is not only giving information to the people about the schemes of the Central Government by going from village to village but is also providing its benefits to the new needy by filling the form immediately. Metropolitan President KK Gupta said that every day this chariot is installed at one or two places where the party workers help in making the beneficiaries aware by taking feedback, taking selfies, giving them gifts and other necessary facilities, filling the forms etc.

After all these addresses, hundreds of people listened to the Prime Minister's address. Today, for the third time, the Prime Minister has addressed the beneficiaries. On this occasion, the coordination was done by Varun Sahu and the vote of thanks was done by Balram Singh. On this occasion, Jitu Charan Ram, Sanjeev Vijayvargiya, Hemant Das, Rakesh Bhaskar, Santosh Kumar, Sitaram Ravi, Ranjan Paswan, Jitendra Singh Patel, Randhir Singh, Subhash Aggarwal, Ajay Aggarwal, Sujata Kachhap, etc. were present.
