A group of Naxalites set ablaze a dozen vehicles engaged in a road construction project in Kanker district in Chhattisgarh, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred between Alparas and Gundul villages where the work is going on for the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), Kanker Superintendent of Police Shalabh Sinha said.
Naxalites stormed the construction site and set ablaze eight tractors, two JCBs and two machines, he said.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, he said, adding that the contractor had not informed the police before starting work there.
