A joint team of security forces today busted a huge bunker of Maoists and seized several explosive items from the site during a search operation in Giridih district’s poll bound Dumri area. The Maoists had hidden a large amount of explosive material, which was discovered during the search operation.
Jharkhand Police and CRPF 154 Battalion jawans have jointly recovered the explosive substances from Parvatpur of Khukhra police station in a joint operation according to a press release issued by the State Police.
Notably, security forces found a bunker during the search operation, in which two 1000 liters water tanks were found containing huge amount of explosive material codex wire152 bundle, 0.303 cartridges - 61 Live, 0.303 cartridges 20, black electric detonator 1921 gun powder - 200 kg GI wire - 250 gms steel truck 01 nos - 01 electrical wire black 05 meter 01 Camera Flash 01 SEN Gel 01 Iron Pad 4×10 04 G Pipe 2 Inch 06 Explosive Filler 01 Hexabelt 04 Iron Barrel 200 Ltr. 20. The recovered explosives were destroyed by the anti-fire squad of Jharkhand Jaguar STF Ranchi and the bunker was demolished and the plan of Maoists was foiled. A case was registered against the militants at Khukhra police station. The raiding team included Deepak Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Giridih Achyutanand, Commandant, 154 Battalion Gulshan Tirkey, Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Vijay Meena, Assistant Commandant, 154 Battalion Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Commandant, 154 Battalion P.N. Ajit Kumar Mahato, Khukhra Police Station Incharge, P.N. Anil Abhishek, Khukhra Police Station P.N. Vimlesh Kumar Mahto, Sariya Police Station (present Parvatpur P.N. Ajay Soy, Harladih O.P. Incharge Giridih District Police Set-85 were included.
