A man was found dead in Kolans river under Khajuri Road police station area on Saturday; he had gone out to graze his cattle on Saturday, the reason of death remains suspicious, said police.
Police said that possibly after reaching the ghat of Kolans river, his foot slipped, due to this, he fell into the river from a height of 35 feet. His head sank into the mud at the bottom of the river and he suffocated.
After spotting the youth, passersby informed the family members and the police. The police took the body into possession and sent it to the PM. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members on Sunday.
SI Shivendra Mishra said that Gopal Sharma (34), resident of village Itkhedi Khajuri, used to do farming. Along with this, he used to operate a dairy in the village . On Saturday afternoon, he had gone out to the forest to graze his cattle.
At around 3.30 in the afternoon, he was leaving the village with cattle from the ghat of river Kolans. Then suddenly his foot slipped and he fell into the river from a height of about 35 feet. Due to this, his head got stuck in the mud accumulated at the bottom of the river.
During this time, passersby passing by saw him, took him out of the river and informed his family and he was taken to hospital where the doctors declared him dead. After the PM, the body was handed over to the family on Sunday.
