Mahua bats for Sahitya Academy in State

JMM MP Mahua Maji has expressed hope that Sahitya Academy will soon be formed in Jharkhand. On the last day of the book festival organized in Ranchi on Sunday, the first session focused on the topic 'Literature and Politics'. In this, Dharmendra Sushant talked to Mahua Maji about his writings and political life. In this sequence, Mahua expressed her gratitude to Rajkamal Prakashan and former MP late Dr. Ramdayal Munda for providing a literary environment through the book festival in Ranchi.

She said that even though she has entered politics, the writer within her is alive. Literature itself has taught him to work sensitively in politics. On the question of development or destruction, she said that the Central Government has passed a new Forest Bill to plunder the forests. On the question of Sahitya Academy, she said that Sahitya Academy will soon be formed in Jharkhand.

Winners of tribal cuisine competition were honored. In the program, the winners of tribal cuisine Competition of Tribal Festival 2023 were honored with cash prizes at the hands of Mahua Maji. “Our Jharkhand, Our Pride” session was also organized on the concluding day. In this, an important discussion took place on the literary life of Yogendra Nath Sinha in which senior litterateur Vidya Bhushan was also present as a speaker. Vidya Bhushan told that Yogendra Nath's writings were mainly on the lifestyle of Ho tribe. Yogendra wrote 56 stories on the background of tribal community.

However, he was a dedicated storyteller. In the third session organized on “Heritage Creator”, special discussions were held on the life and struggle of Raghunath Murmu, Lako Bodra, Pandit Ayta Oraon and Pyara Kerketta. In this session, Doomani Mai Murmu, Dayamani Sinku, Premchand Oraon and Dr. Tarkeleng Kullu remembered the heritage makers of Jharkhand through various memoirs.

The last session of the book festival was poetry evening. In this, tribal poets recited their poems. This session was coordinated by senior tribal litterateur Vandana Tete. It is noteworthy that thousands of people participated in the seven-day long book festival. In the book exhibition organized during this period, books on tribal culture and literature were liked the most.
