Haris Bin Zaman, a 2017 batch IPS officer transferred from Traffic SP Ranchi, took charge as the 32nd police captain in Lohardaga district on Sunday evening. He took charge from outgoing police captain R Ramkumar at police office Lohardaga. After assuming charge, while addressing the media, he said that maintaining communal harmony in Lohardaga district and making Lohardaga district Naxal free and crime free will be his first priority. He said that the programs, orders and instructions announced by the government will be strictly followed. Cooperation is expected from the public as well as the media in dealing with the challenges in the district. To maintain law and order, better initiatives will be taken to build better relations with the general public. He said that our efforts will be to take the complaints and problems of the public seriously and resolve them. He said that better work has been done in Lohardaga by the previous officers and he will follow it which has been appreciated by the people of the area. He said that he will work to maintain law and order under any circumstances. The way work was being done earlier will continue. There will be more focus on controlling Naxalism and arresting top Maoist leaders. Special vigil will be kept on the border areas adjoining Lohardaga.

Outgoing Police Captain R Ramkumar said that ever since Lohardaga district was formed, the people of Lohardaga have maintained communal harmony. In previous incidents, the district administration and the entire police team did a great job. People associated with the media here have also given full cooperation in crime control, maintaining law and order and creating coordination between the police and the public. The credibility of the police remains intact among the common people. Will maintain it in future also.
