Indicators under Aspirational District Lohardaga were reviewed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Kamal Kishore Soan on Saturday in the meeting room of District Council Office, Lohardaga. In the meeting, first of all, the compliance of the instructions given in the previous meeting was reviewed. Instructions were given to construct the school building under the Education Department and ensure its utility. Instructions were given to ensure payment of electricity bills of school buildings so that electricity supply is not disrupted. Instructions were given to ensure provision of toilets in schools.
Also, instructions were given to make an action plan and send a proposal to the state government for starting teaching-learning work in the schools after the construction work of the school building is completed by March 2024 in the five Eklavya residential schools under construction in different blocks of the district. Also, to provide opportunities to the students of residential schools in the Akanksha Examination, instructions were given to identify such children and get them prepared in Lohardaga district itself. For this, instructions were given to contact the teachers teaching for the aspiration exam and make arrangements for the teachers. Instructions were given to conduct orientation before the examination. Instructions were given to inform the children about the dates of the entrance examination as per the calendar.
The Rural Development Department, Lohardaga was directed to ensure access roads to schools, hospitals and Anganwadi centres. Instructions were given to the Executive Engineer to prepare an action plan for this. Instructions were given to ensure ANC under the Health Department. Information about sickle cell testing was taken from health departments. Instructions were given to monitor women registered in ANC for institutional deliveries and ensure institutional deliveries. Instructions were given to ensure availability machines in Anganwadi centres. Besides, instructions were given to regularly monitor the children.
In the meeting, various indicators were reviewed by Soan in which health, education, agriculture and water conservation, financial inclusion, infrastructure, drinking water and sanitation, social welfare, animal husbandry, skill development etc. were reviewed. In the indicator of education, the District Education Officer was directed to fill 100 per cent of the seats reserved for 25 per cent economically weaker sections in schools under the Right to Education Act. For this, the District Education Officer was instructed to conduct a survey and identify the children with the help of public representatives before enrollment in the said schools.
Instructions were given to fill 100% seats in the new session. The Land Conservation Officer was directed to get the site selected as per the target for Amrit Sarovar in Lohardaga district for the next year so that the ponds can be completed smoothly. The District Agriculture Officer was directed to ensure availability of fertilizers, seeds and pumpsets among the farmers. Besides, instructions were given to promote the production of Madua, Ragi, etc. Instructions were given to cover the gap of missing KCC beneficiaries in the next three months. Instructions were given to encourage vegetable producing farmers in Lohardaga district by linking them with projects under NRLM so that farmers can get the right price for their produce.
Information about the work being done in the district with the award money received under NITI Aayog was given in the meeting by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna. The Joint Secretary directed to motivate the farmers for the production of pulses and to prepare an action plan on 100 acres of land in the next three months like the farm houses of the district. Various product stalls and coaching center were also inspected by the Joint Secretary. The Joint Secretary, on behalf of the district administration, inspected the Homi J Bhabha Coaching Centre, an institute established for preparation of medical and engineering entrance examinations. In this, the Joint Secretary talked to the students studying there and gave tips. Deputy Development Commissioner Jai Jyoti Samanta, Additional Collector Saurabh Prasad, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar, all district level officers, Block Development Officer Kisko and other concerned officers, personnel, fellows etc. were present in the meeting.
