Hry CM to unveil development projects worth over Rs 95 crores in Bhiwani
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will unveil development projects worth over Rs 95 Crores in Bhiwani district on December 24. These include the inauguration of the newly constructed Government Model Senior Secondary School building in Loharu, for Rs 5.28 crores. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stones for 16 diverse projects across various departments, collectively amounting to several crores, a spokesperson said on Friday. The list of projects the foundation stones of which would be laid by the Chief Minister include the construction work of four railway under bridges - village Sohansra, Gothra, Jhanjhra Toda/Sheoran and Baralu on the Rewari-Sadulpur-Bikaner railway line for Rs 33.40 crore, rehabilitation of Damkora distributary from RD 0 to 109000 for Rs 12.93 crore and the rehabilitation of Ladawas distributary from RD 0 to 137500 at a cost of Rs 14.75 crore.
Hry to identify land for forests in each district to expedite infrastructure projects
Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Friday directed officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to identify approximately 500 acres of land in each district for planting forests. This measure aims to reduce delays in infrastructure projects due to time spent acquiring no-objection certificates from the Forest Department for cutting existing trees. Chautala reviewed land acquisitions conducted through e-Bhoomi during a meeting here.
Hry Vidhan Sabha issues notification for constitution of committee to investigate Jind case
Chandigarh: As per discussions held during the Winter Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, a four-member committee has been constituted to investigate the matter regarding sexual harassment by the then Principal of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Uchana Mandi (Jind). It was decided by the House that a fact-finding committee under the Chairmanship of School Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar be constituted to investigate the said matter, for the period from 2005 to 2023 of all incidents mentioned/discussed in the House in its sittings on December 15 and 18, 2023. The Committee will submit its report in the first meeting of the next Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The Committee Members include MLAs Aseem Goel, Bharat Bhushan Batra, Amarjeet Dhanda.
Rs 4-cr grants given for watershed progs in Punjab
Chandigarh: Punjab Soil and Water Conservation Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra on Friday handed over grants of more than Rs four crore for the development and agricultural farm production improvement works for seven watershed-based projects being implemented at total cost of Rs 80 crore in Sub-Mountainous Kandi belt's five districts — Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, SBS Nagar, SAS Nagar, and Rupnagar. In a first-ever such initiative, the Minister interacted with more than 100 members of Watershed Committees, Farmer Produce Organizations (FPOs) and Self Help Groups (SHG) from these districts.
Punjab released Rs 15.17-cr under Ashirwad for BC, EWS
Chandigarh: Punjab Government has released an amount of Rs 15.17 crore during the current year under the Ashirwad scheme for the welfare of Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections. Informing this, the Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr Baljit Kaur on Friday said that this amount covered 2,975 beneficiaries. Under the scheme, financial assistance of up to Rs 51,000 is provided by the State Government for the marriage of girls belonging to low-income families in the State.
